    Hi Moya,
The mention of the builders of the Kal Central school brought back memories of the 1960s when I used to pass along Cassidy St going to work.Opposite the School there was a brick building, apparently empty, on the site of the present day taxi company depot. It looked like one of the early pubs in town but I knew it hadn’t been a pub.
Attempts to identify it using the old Postal Directories revealed nothing.
My guess is it might have been a rooming house of the goldrush era. It looked like one..
Do you remember it, and have you any info on it?
    Bernie.
