Little Boy Lost:-

20/05/2018 By Moya Sharp Leave a Comment

Mount Magnet Miner and Lennonville Leader 14 September 1901

On Sunday last, the three year old son, of Mr (Louis Albert) Pola and Mrs (Mary nee ABBOTT) Pola, of Lennonville, was lost at the caves about 8 miles from that town. The child was left asleep in the caves while games were indulged in by the party of picnickers, who on going back discovered that the child had disappeared. This was about 1 p.m, and search parties were organised and the tracks picked up and followed while daylight lasted, and then torches were obtained and the search continued until about 3 a.m. on the following morning, when the little boy was found by his father, standing under a mulga bush, about six miles from where he was lost. Besides being very much sunburnt the little fellow was not much the worse for his outing and when found did not appear at all afraid.
