Miners Memorial

Some of you may know of the Miners Memorial which has been in the pipeline for nearly a decade now.  I am proud to say that the completion is now in sight.  Finally the many people who have lost their lives in the quest for gold are now to be honoured and recognised with a permanent memorial. A total of 1474 names  from 1892 to the present have now been submitted to the engravers and will be etched in gold lettering on granite.
So many people have contributed, too many to mention but you all know who you are and I send my thanks on behalf of the committee.
Now the families of those who have died I hope may get some comfort from the recognition of their loved ones sacrifice and for those who have no one to mourn them they will be remembered.
If you would like to look at the register and the information that is in a addition to what will be on then memorial you can view the whole list on my site www.outbackfamilyhistory.com.au
This register will always be open for corrections and additions, this is my promise to the people of the Goldfields.
