The following images were kindly sent in by Graeme Sisson and were taken in Yalgoo in about 1953-1954 by his mother when his father was stationed there. Many thanks Graeme.
The Courthouse was behind the then Post Office, and I believe it is now used as the Museum.
The Mortuary was located on the block at the rear of the Police Station and not that far from the Quarters.
The full length shot of the Quarters next to Neville’s corner store and Shell drum depot.
The next one of the far right side of the Quarters shows the rain water tank and you’ll note the high fence. I was told that it had been there for many years and was to be a visual barrier to camels when they saw the small area of green couch grass. Dunno how it worked as those critters just walk all over the place.
The old police station was transported from Nannine when that station closed many years earlier. (so I’ve been told). Note the old impounded vehicle on the right and behind that is the old Mortuary.
