Since the launch of the ‘Goldfields Hotels’ database. I have had lots of interest from those seeking info on various hotels. Just this week I received the attached photo of the Perseverance Hotel at the Boulder Block. Its one of the few ‘Kalgoorlie-Boulder’ hotels that I don’t have a pic of. Isn’t it amazing ???? Actually I do have one image of it but it is taken from so far away you can hardly make out the name.
The lady who sent it to me is Patricia Engler who is the Gt Granddaughter of the licensee of the hotel in 1900. His name was William Burke. She would love to know some more about him and if any Bourke family members would like to contact me I can pass on her email address. She is not certain but it is likely that one of the people in the front of the photo are ‘Bourke’s’.
Thanks Tricia for allowing me to post the photo. It will also be added to the ‘Goldfields Hotel’ database on the Outback Family History website.
