Jo Roelofs has very kindly shared the following photographs from the family album of her Great Grandfather Thomas Asplin and his brother Jack:-

Thomas Asplin

The Asplin Water Condenser – Coolgardie 1898-1899. It was in Shaw St RHS if travelling from Lefroy St to Moran St Coolgardie.

The Asplin Camel Team – Murchison 1900

The Asplin Camel Team – Day Dawn 1904 – Jack Asplin at the head of the camel team.

    :”What no more gold!” And, “Bejesus, mine’s a pot.”
    Do you remember those words chalked next to a well drawn caricature of Harry Asplin (as well as other drawings) on a blackboard behind the bar of the Broad Arrow pub Moya?
    It’s nearly 60 years since I first saw it, but I think the board is still there.
