Ripping Yarns and Tragic Tales – news 11th Apr 2021

10/04/2021 By Moya Sharp Leave a Comment

This week we have a bit of a change in your weekly missive. I know that change is not always good, I dislike it myself, but I assure you that your usual stories will proceed after my few words each week.

I’m writing this as something I have been meaning to do for a while, as I often get questions on how I find the stories I write about or how the Outback Family History web site and Blog came about.

I know that many of you are not actively researching your family history and may indeed not have any relatives on WA Goldfields. A bit like me, who has to be content to borrow my husbands legion of Goldfields descendants. I have now been in Kalgoorlie for 32 years, so I’m way past the 25 year minimum to be considered a local. You may be an ‘ex-pat’ who just loves reading stories from ‘home’. Or, also like me, you might just love a good ‘Ripping Yarn or Tragic Tale’. I hope we can all enjoy the weekly news.

Anyway enough about me. I just wanted to let you know that each week I will do a bit of an update on what’s been happening and anything interesting that may have turned up. I will also tell you a bit of the whole Outback Family History background, its been quite a ride.

If you don’t want to read these bits an pieces each week, just skip ahead to the usual stories, I wont mind, really I won’t, I promise, no hard feelings. ♥

Bye for now and remember, you can contact me on moyasharp@outbackfamilyhistory.com.au anytime. I promise to answer in person (but it sometimes takes me a while).
