Ripping Yarns and Tragic Tales – 23rd May 2021

Hi Everyone, hope your week has been better than ours. Sadly one of our beloved dogs has been diagnosed with cancer of the jaw bone and it has thrown us all into shock and sadness. We have decided that we will not put her through the drastic surgery that was suggested but to just keep her close in her own home where we can make sure she’s not in pain and feels safe. She is my constant companion and friend and we go everywhere together as those who know me will know.

Also however this week I have been most fortunate to receive several wonderful stories which I will feature in the next few week’s editions of ‘Ripping Yarns’. The first this week is the story of George Hay. This tale also created yet another story for later, on the naming and renaming of hotels in Kalgoorlie that can cause confusion, but more of that next week.

You will be relieved to know that the office move to the back of the house is now complete, well I am anyway! It does my OCD heart good to look in my two large cupboards. Only one filing cabinet to still come but I’m buying myself a new one and a new white desk with red legs from Ikea. It has been slow, but I have not just moved everything but have sorted out everything as I went. I now have much more of an idea of what I have, and where it is.

So it’s goodbye from me and I hope that you enjoy this week’s stories, and as always, I love to hear your feedback!
