Ripping Yarns and Tragic Tales -18th Apr 2021

I hope that you have all had a great week and that you are enjoying your weekend.

Just wanted to let you know a bit of ‘behind the scenes’ on Outback Family History. For those who are interested, the current work in progress in adding new information to the Outback Family History web site is always ongoing. Just quietly in the background.

I could never manage without my volunteers who help me all the time. I am currently working to digitize a huge volume of ‘Goldfields’ information and stories and I couldn’t do it with out them. There have been many other helpers along the line who have contributed, but these are the volunteers who are helping me at the moment. Only one of them actually lives here, isn’t the internet great??

So a big shout out to!!!

Michelle: who is transcribing the Kalgoorlie Hospital Admission records from 1919-1921 from handwritten records.

John who is working away at ‘upgrading the Cue Cemetery records and getting them into the ‘Outback Family History format’ and while doing so, adding details as he goes such as newspaper articles and even photographs. Gathering together information from lots of sources to make it not just a list of names but a list of mini biographies on those buried at Cue.
John also helps me with the Facebook Page buy answering many of the questions people ask and adding more detail. Thanks John!

David who has done an amazing job in sorting out the records of the Laverton Cemetery. The text he has worked on has now been uploaded to the site and now I just need to add all of the articles he has found ‘Laverton Cemetery’

David also helps me with the www.wavmm.com, The Western Australian Virtual Miners Memorial and is also a co-admin on the Facebook page.

And last, but by no mean least, is my friend and photographer Danelle, whose unfailing interest and wonderful photography makes the images on the site look amazing. This is one of my favorite photos she has taken. Isn’t it great??? She has also uncovered several stories which have ended up in our weekly missive to you.

For myself I’m still working away at the Leonora Cemetery Records and have been since last November. This will be finished by June-July this year, and I hope will be one of the best and complete cemetery record in regional Western Australia. I will let you be the judge.

Remember you can contact me any time (because I’m always home) on moyasharp@outbackfamilyhistory.com.au

So its goodbye from me, and I hope you enjoy this weeks stories!  Moya♥
