I just love these ‘Then and Now’ pics!! This is the Vissign Australia Building at 125 Boulder Road (across the road from McDonald). As you will see it hasn’t changed a bit since these photos were taken just after WW2 in 1945. They were sent in by Graeme Hickmott, whose father had the garage.

    When I was a young boy, about 12 , I used to sell papers for a couple and I think their name was Stevens. This would have been 1957 and I’m pretty sure that they lived directly alongside this old Garage.
    There must be many who as young boys remember strapping on the leather bags and picking up the papers for delivery on their rounds or taking them to their favorite corner and yelling . ‘paper, get your paper’. My first job of work that I was to get paid for.
