The company of G R Brown and Co was stated as a ‘Very salubrious Establishment’ as this photo below will show. There seemd to be a great numbert of staff employed there and the building not only occupied the premesis as seen today in the ‘Burt Street Presinct’ but also a double story building to the left which is now sadly no longer there. I think this part would have been next to the beer garden of the Tatts Hotel is now.
The Kalgoorlie Miner of the 24th Decemeber 1907 states:
MESSRS. G. R. BROWN. & CO.: Messrs. .Brown and Co., tailors and outfitters, have now achieved a reputation which demands vigilance and the very best work to maintain. The stock of clothes and material not made up is one of the best in the town, and since the premises have been enlarged, it bears favourable comparison with anything outside of Perth. The very large front space and windows are a credit to Boulder.
The business of G R Brown and Co still operates in St, BarrackPerth offering tailoring for ‘vintage’ clothes
