Andy Mathew Dressa Back Left

Andy Mathew Dressa Back Left

This wonderful photograph was sent to me by Trish Ward who has kindly given me permission to show it to you. These hansom fellows were part of a cricket team and the man in the back left is the only one that can definitely be identified. He is Andy Dressa who was a champion cricketer, football, and baseball player.

Sadly Andy was killed in an accident on Rottnest Island during military training. As you will see he was a Boulder boy.His brother, Domenic ‘Dinky’ Dressa, was also a well known sportsman.

The following notices from the Kalgoorlie Miner 8th May 1942 show the great esteem that Andy was held in and the many sporting groups he was a member of.
