In 1910, he held the world sprint record of 130 yards and in 1912, in New Zealand set a new world record for the 200 yards in 19 seconds.  Arthur Postle retired from competition running in 1913 and returned to Queensland, where he went on to coach runners for the next 50 years.   Arthur Postle died in Brisbane in April 1965.
