A Distinguished Residence – Trove Tuesday

25/10/2016 By Moya Sharp 4 Comments

The following photograph is the home of Kyran Brennan, one of the Brennan Brothers who started the well known stores in Boulder and Kalgoorlie. Mr Brennan left town in 1903 due to ill health. This lovely home was on the corner of Ivanhoe and Burt Street, Boulder. Sadly no longer there.

Many thanks, I just did another post of Facebook about a photo I had just found of a house in my own street, taken in 1907, which was only buldozed last month. Such a pity. I have though managed to give photos of houses to the present residents who have been thrilled with them so not all bad news. Thank you
so much for including me in ‘Friday Fossicking’ it is very much appreciated.
      Bye for now Moya

I did see that second post, how lovely that you were able to share the photos with the present occupants of those places.
You’re welcome, Moya, happy to share interesting and informative posts.

Moya, Back around 19 August 16 you posted info about the KIRKBY family in Kalgoorlie, especially George Henry Kirkby 11/10/1920 – 1942 who has a plaque in the grounds of the Kal. Hospital. Would you be kind enough to re send this to my email address with the other Kirkby names. I can then forward to interested family members. I was busy organising a family reunion for 24 Sep 16 in Kal at the time. Have photos of original family and the restoration of grave from 1934 if you can use them. Thanks Claire Kirkby Hunt
