					<description><![CDATA[It is really great to read about of women of the goldfields. What hard lives they must have had when you think of our life today. The washing and cooking and cleaning all hard labour. Not to mention the clothes they wore while carrying out those onerous duties. The fire danger in cooking with open flames, bearing children in isolation and harsh sometimes lonely environments. Worthy of much more recognition.]]></description>

My great-grandparents lived in Sandstone when my grandmother was born in 1912, so they may have been amongst those generous townsfolk.
