Sitting reading about these brave men from your Region. Was so sad to read about the three Cogan brothers who were killed. I couldn’t stop looking at their mothers picture. Such a tragic loss.

Oh my goodness! Emotion at seeing my uncle’s name (Frank Irwin Webster) on the honours list and also that of my grandmother’s second husband (William Chambers Robinson).

HOPKINS W check 820/1166 William Castle Horan Hopkins wife was in Boulder City and he served in Kalgoorlie militia.

GORDON T check 284 Thomas Gordon. Took medical in Kalgoorlie and was discharged in England

GEORGE E check 7723 Ernest George. He enlisted in Kalgoorlie

EVANS H check 415 Harold John Evans. Mother was in Kalgoorlie and he was in the Goldfields Infantry and a miner

MACLEOD D check 6086 Donald McLEOD (spelling) mother was in Kalgoorlie and medical was in Kagoorlie

MAGGERS S there is no enlistement details from a person of this name having enlisted in Australia. Possibly from UK as it was not uncommon for these peopleto be entered on Honour Boards/Roll of Honour/War Memorials

I did send you the details for Hugh O’Donnell some time ago. He was born 22.09.1898 so was 16 years and 8 months old when he enlisted but stated that he was 19 years and one month old. He was 17 years and 7 months old when he was killed. I thought I had sent you a scan of his birth certificate.
