Many Slav names there, mainly from rocky Dalmatia which saw the emigration of hundreds to the Goldfields soon after the discovery of the Golden Mile, and then after World War One when Dalmatia split from the Austro Hungarian Empire and thus lost markets in wine and olives. When I was a boy there were a great number of Dalmatian Slavs in many parts of Kalgoorlie and Boulder, and previous to that in the Northern Goldfields in Leonora Gwalia, Malcolm, Agnew,and the like.
